AZZO was asked to implement an energy management system at Scentre Group’s flagship site, Westfield Sydney Central.

Covering almost 200,000m2 and containing over 350 businesses and services, this is one of the largest shopping precincts in the Australia, and one of the most complex projects AZZO has undertaken to-date.

THE CHALLENGE

Often, with a site like Westfield Sydney, the building’s managers require quick views and up-to-the-minute understanding of power usage. Until AZZO undertook the problem, Westfield’s facilitators had to login at many different locations to view numerous different systems. This was inefficient on multiple levels, not least on internal resources, but culminating in the waste of energy and finances.

Our challenge was to provide the client with an overall SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) view of their power distribution and their various generator systems in order to arrest the inefficiencies.
