Hi everyone, I’m Mohammad Jafari, but around the office (and pretty much everywhere else) people just call me Moh , much easier, right?
I was born in Iran, where I grew up surrounded by rich Persian culture and traditions (and yes, plenty of delicious food). In 2012, I packed up with my family and moved to Sydney. After 8 years of studying, working, and braving the traffic, we traded the hustle and bustle for the calm, beautiful vibes of Adelaide, best decision ever! (just my own idea not the kids).
My background is in electrical engineering, and most of my career has revolved around designing and developing power electronics, things like solar inverters, battery and EV chargers, and switching mode rectifiers (basically the stuff that keeps the world running without sparks flying). In May 2024, I joined AZZO as a Power Quality Engineer. To me, it’s a perfect match, after all, power electronics are one of the main culprits for harmonics and power quality issues, so now I get to use my past experience to tackle real on-site challenges.
What I love about AZZO is the culture: supportive, friendly, and full of talented colleagues who never hesitate to share their knowledge (and sometimes snacks).
Outside of work, my time is all about family and community. I’m lucky to share life with my amazing wife (who also works in the same field), my daughter (about to head off to uni), my son (just starting high school), and our newest family member, Maple the puppy, who’s basically the boss of the house now. Our life is a fun mix of Persian and Aussie traditions, and I’m always trying to keep that balance.
As a dad, my #1 mission is keeping everyone (myself included) healthy and happy. That means soccer with friends in the warmer months, table tennis matches with the family (no mercy given), and the occasional food adventure, trying out different cuisines at restaurants. When the budget allows, we love international travel. Our most recent adventure was in Turkey, where we celebrated my 50th birthday in style with two unforgettable weeks.
